Jeffrey Epstein's crimes expose legal injustices

Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein was notorious for his manipulative persona, using everyone in the business and political world to climb the financial hierarchy. His influence became so unstoppable that numerous criminal accusations against him suspiciously led to dead ends.

The uproar of unanswered questions from Epstein’s crimes has resurfaced after the release of the “Epstein Files.” These files entail all the evidence collected throughout the 2008 trial against Epstein. This includes his private messages, redacted tapes, witness statements and his private jet flight logs.

In the early 2000s, Epstein was accused of multiple sexual violations against female minors from his residences in Florida, Mexico and on his private island. Months before his trial, Epstein and his defense team met with the judge of their trial at the courthouse and held a secret conference without consulting the prosecution attorneys. If that was not suspicious enough, the trial's outcome was dissolved by a plea deal. This meant that Epstein pleaded guilty, and he was sentenced to only 18 months in prison on what should have been at least a 15-year sentence.

Still, justice was not served even after his prison sentence. Epstein was housed in the private wing of the prison with free range of the grounds. After two weeks, Epstein was granted work release, allowing him to leave the prison six days a week for 12 hours a day. He was released after just 13 months, where he continued to break the law by violating his probation daily. There were pages of violations and photographic evidence of him outside of his boundary. Every single time the prosecutors brought these facts to light, the probation officers said they “couldn’t do anything about it.”

Not only was Epstein given the best treatment in his confinement, but it was also evident that his trial and all treatment thereafter were biased. For years, his victims had to sit back and watch this man walk free and continue to repeat these vile crimes with no repercussions. And now, they couldn’t take further action because their testimonies were heard and ignored. I can’t imagine the amount of rage and distrust I would have in our legal system for letting a man like that get away with such inhumane acts.

The Epstein files were finally released after being withheld from the public for seven years. One of the biggest pieces of evidence found within the files is that Epstein and many other public officials were engaging in cannibalism, as listed explicitly in file EFTA01246048. Additionally, there is a 2009 news recording of a young Mexican model, Gabrielle Rico Jiménez, in a frantic state, yelling that they were eating children. This model had just come from Epstein’s Island. Although the footage did not explicitly say who, it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. To make matters worse, the very next night, she miraculously disappeared and has yet to be found to this day.

There are also many conspiracies around the famous pop star, Michael Jackson’s involvement with Epstein. Jackson was documented on the island on multiple occasions. He was known to have very close bonds with children and expressed his love for them in multiple press interviews. So much so that the media would twist his intentions and paint his motives with them in a bad light. Once the news discovered Jackson was visiting Epstein’s island, the public was quick to assume the worst. However, with the recent release of the files, many have gathered evidence that Jackson was actually saving the kids from Epstein’s terrorization. In fact, there is a telephone recording of Jackson telling his dietician that there was "a group of people more powerful than the government who were after him” and that they could “frame his death.” Four days later, Jackson was pronounced dead due to a cardiac arrest. If that does not confirm this theory for you, then I’m not sure what will.

My heart goes out to all who were affected by Epstein. The layers of Epstein’s crimes will forever remain unproven after he took his own life in 2019. This fact angers me more than anything because that means the victims will never get to discover many of Epstein’s motives. The only fact I have deduced from this web of conspiracies is that he is a sick man. Although justice was not served to Epstein, many public figures are currently being put behind bars for these crimes, and I can only hope that justice will continue to be served.
