Briley's Farm makes bales of fun
THURS. | 11-11-21 | ENTERTAINMENT
Briley’s Farm Market is a family-owned farm in Pitt County spanning over 90 acres. In the fall, Briley’s is open for pumpkin season, and visiting is a fun daytime activity that is enjoyable for people of all ages. The admission fee is 15 dollars, and children under two get in for free. This admission allows visitors to participate in all activities, including picking a pumpkin and sunflowers to take home. Concessions are also available; I highly recommend the freshly-squeezed lemonade.
Briley’s offers many different activities during the fall season such as hay rides, a jumping pad, a tube slide, a sixty-five foot fun slide, train rides, games, a corn pit, visits with animals, a corn maze, a sunflower maze, duck races, a tube swing, playgrounds, two cow trains and pumpkin picking. Every two hours, a candy cannon shoots candy into the air, which is a crowd-favorite activity.
Briley’s Farm is home to a wide variety of animals that patrons can learn about and visit. Chickens, goats, ducks, pigs, guineas, turkeys, rabbits and a cow are among the animals who greet visitors.

“I love getting to work in the animal petting area because it is so heartwarming to see the younger kids get so excited to pet the animals,” Briley’s employee and 9th grade Rose student Anna Heubel said.
I also really enjoyed the hayride; getting to ride around the farm and see everything from that point of view was a really fun experience.
I enjoyed getting to talk to people I didn’t know while on the hayride. This was a great way to see an overview of all of the activities from a distance.
All of the employees were extremely polite and very welcoming. They all seemed to really enjoy their jobs, which made this an even more pleasant experience.
“I like working at Briley’s because of the good atmosphere; it is such a friendly and kind place to work where we are all like family,” Rose 10th grade student and Briley’s employee Caroline Alexander said.
During my visit, I could clearly see that atmosphere Caroline described. The employees were all talking and laughing, interacting with visitors and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there for our experience.
Briley’s Farm Market is a great fall activity, but they offer much more during other seasons as well. From May through August, you can subscribe to produce boxes delivered directly to your door.
They also offer field trips for schools/groups and birthday parties any day with reservations. During the winter months, they have holiday-themed events as well.
I would recommend adding a visit to Briley’s Farm Market to your calendar this fall. If you are interested, check them out at their website, http://www.brileysfarmmarketnc.com and on their social media pages on both Instagram and Facebook.
