Brena Gauland is a senior at JH Rose High School and a Features Editor in Journalism this semester. This is her first semester in Journalism and she is ecstatic to be a part of this paper. Brena currently serves as the state president for North Carolina Future Business Leaders of America, JH Rose’s FBLA chapter president, plays varsity lacrosse for Rose, and is involved in approximately 12 other clubs/honor societies at school including Student Government, National Spanish Honor Society, and Bible Club. Outside of JHR (#bestschoolever), Brena loves to travel, get $1 Cokes from McDonald’s (#noshame), organize, and browse the aisles of Target. :) Brena loves to work with people and bring energy to the groups she works with, so after taking AP Language and Composition & AP Seminar with Mrs. Hutchinson last year, knew that Journalism would be the perfect class to take..and because Mrs. Hutch is the best. Brena also has a ministry blog of her own and is excited to further it using the skills she will learn in Journalism. She is excited for this year and to bring reliable and entertaining articles to the students and staff of JH Rose!
